Before you write — quick answers

Can you give me personal tax advice?

No — and be wary of any website that says yes. Our calculators estimate take-home pay for standard employment. For decisions involving pensions, benefits in kind, self-employment, or residency, please consult a qualified tax adviser in your country.

My payslip shows a different number than your calculator. Why?

The most common reasons are pension contributions, student loan repayments, health insurance choices, or local/municipal tax variations — our methodology page explains exactly what each calculator does and doesn't include. If none of those explain the gap, write to us with the country and salary and we'll investigate.

Can you add my country or profession?

Requests genuinely shape our roadmap — several of the 22 countries we cover were added because readers asked. Tell us the country or profession and, ideally, a link to its official tax authority.

Do you do link exchanges or paid guest posts?

No. We're happy to collaborate on genuine data journalism and research, but we don't publish paid links or sponsored content presented as editorial.
